Billings Dance Academy
Our Philosophy:

Growing Though Dance. We work to give each student a good foundation in dance regardless if they decide to pursue dance as a career, a college degree or just for fun. We believe dance to be a great experience for all, it not only improves coordination and physical strength, but also strengthens discipline and self- confidence which will carry over into all areas of life. We provide dancers with the experience and tools to love and appreciate the art of dance by teaching the physical skills, technique and expressive nature of dance. Classes are limited in size and created by ability to provide the best possible experience for each dancer and the curriculum is designed to carry each student forward in every class. Choreography and costumes are kept modest and age appropriate.  Our number one goal is the quality of dance education we provide for each and every dancer. We invite you and your dancer to be a part of this experience!

ATTENDANCE

To be effective, dance training must be consistent. The curriculum is designed to carry each student forward in every class. Absences and tardiness can disrupt the rest of the class and the dancers' progress. If a dancer is missing class on a continual basis it will hold back their individual progress, even more, slow the progress of the whole class. Please call or email the studio if a dancer will be absent from class. If a dancer decides to drop a class, written notification is required and tuition will continue to accrue until the studio is notified. Refunds or credits cannot be given for tuition, registration, performance and costume fees if a student drops in the middle of the dance season.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

  •  All dancers must have hair securely pulled back away from their face and neck for class
  •  Hair should be in a BUN for Ballet Classes; NO messy buns please!
  •  Dancers should wear cover-up clothing over leotard and tights
  •  Dance shoes should not be worn outside
  •  Please no jewelry in class - Leave valuables at home; Billings Dance Academy will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items
  •  NO street shoes, gum, food, drinks or cell phones on the dance floors
  •  Be respectful and courteous of other dancers, parents, siblings and instructors
  •  Dancers should use the restroom before class

DANCE ATTIRE

Uniformity in appearance is an integral part of the dance training process. Specific styles and colors in shoes, tights and leotards are required.

  • For convenience all class dance attire and shoes are available through the studio
  • Be sure to mark dancers' name in all dance shoes, clothing, costumes, etc.

At performance time dancers will be required to have specific items from the dancewear list in order for us to build a costume over an identical base of tights, shoes, leotards, etc.
